Deep Drawn Stamping Services

A Deep Drawn stamping is when the depth of the drawn cup exceeds its diameter. Deep drawing can be performed in progressive die tooling as well as multiple-stage compound die tooling. It all depends on the depth of the cup. Custom Deep Drawn parts can be produced on conventional flywheel presses, Servo presses as well as compound presses.

Servo Presses Provide Unique Advantages When Producing Deep Drawn Stampings

Servo Presses are excellent for producing all different types of drawn stampings. Due to the infinite, optional stroke profiles that a servo press can be programmed for, it is capable of producing difficult drawn parts as well problem stampings more accurately and more efficiently than a conventional stamping press. In many cases eliminating operations and many times increasing the speed.

The servo presses can allow you to slow the speed of the press exactly when the material is moving and stop tearing that is commonly created in the drawing process. As soon as the draw is completed the press can dramatically speed back up until it reaches that stage again.

A Deep Drawn stamping is when the depth of the drawn cup exceeds its diameter. Deep drawing can be performed in progressive die tooling as well as multiple-stage compound die tooling. It all depends on the depth of the cup. Deep Drawn parts can be produced on conventional flywheel presses, Servo presses as well as compound presses.

Just like progressive die stampings, deep-drawn stampings use custom dies. The custom dies are used to cut, form and shape rolled sheets of metal using a stamping press. The stamping die is comprised of many individual workstations that help develop the finished part. Each station works in unison to progressively complete each required operation that is necessary to produce a finished part.

The custom dies can perform a wide variety of operations such as cutting, coining, forming, bending, extruding, drawing, embossing, tapping, assembly as well as many others.

  • It is one of the most cost-effective manufacturing processes available to produce metal components in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, using almost any material you can imagine.
  • You can form as well as draw material to create different material thicknesses, shapes, corners and radiuses to meet your required application.
  • The tooling is relatively inexpensive and can last for decades.
  • You can convert parts from a wide variety of other metal forming practices such as fabrications, castings, forgings,  powdered metal as well as weldments into parts produced as a deep-drawn stamping.
